SAT SPEED Guide

The SAT Speed Guide is a performance benchmark sheet that shows students exactly how fast they must complete key foundational exercises in order to achieve elite-level SAT timing.

It is a standards guide.

The sheet outlines target completion times for specific skill drills drawn from Khan Academy and IXL, so students know whether they are operating at a competitive pace — or whether their processing speed needs reinforcement before full SAT practice exams make sense.

Most students practice full tests before they are ready, which can harm confidence.
Please avoid this when “studying.”

Top percentile scores go beyond knowledge in their prep — they make literal quantum leaps, developing automaticity.

The SAT Speed Guide shows:

  • How quickly core algebra skills must be executed
  • How to quantify elite speed and measure whether you have it
  • The order in which math fundamentals should be practiced and executed.
  • Which fundamental skills map to which advanced question types

Instead of guessing whether you’re “fast enough,” you’ll have clear benchmarks.

If you can’t complete a foundational skill drill within the target time, that’s diagnostic. It tells you exactly what needs strengthening. Once speed improves at the skill level, SAT sections become dramatically more manageable.

This guide is ideal for:

  •  Students stuck in the 1100–1350 range who feel rushed
  •  High scorers aiming for 1450+ who need sharper execution
  •  Beginners who want structured standards before diving into full tests
  •  Parents looking for objective timing metrics

The SAT Speed Guide contains defined performance standards.

Elite SAT scores are not accidental.
